Every Friday from 9am to 10am every homeless person can come and get their own lunchbox! Everyone’s favorite is boiled eggs and instant coffee.

Since November 2019, our homeless people can be trained to receive Foundation SCA certification and engage in the art of coffee. The knowledge is put into practice on Sundays at noon after the Sunday service of the First Greek Evangelical Church.
Care Package
Every Thursday night when the shops close and our homeless fellow human beings return to their posts, groups of volunteers go out with their carts for the established streetwork.
Taking Care of Public Documents
People living on the streets may have left many issues from the past and some of these issues have to do with their public documents. A large number of people have asked from On the Way to help them with the tax office, to apply for a pension, see which state allowance they are entitled to.
Barber On the Way
Once a month, we pass by the place where homeless people are and give them a haircut. Appointments are booked on Thursdays when the care package is distributed by the volunteers of On the Way.
This is who I am
Knowing that our homeless fellow human beings do not have a camera or a cell phone with a camera, we thought that a photograph would give them great joy. Our volunteer photographer takes photos of our friends at their favorite place in Athens and in a few days we give them their printed photo.
Social Housing
Every person needs a home, not only to protect themselves from the cold and danger, but to feel safe at all times and to be able to see themselves as someone who has value, belongs somewhere and can offer to the society which they lives in.
“On the Way” envisions being able to offer our homeless fellow human beings the opportunity to live in a safe home for a certain period of time, while offering them psychosocial support. The goal is for these people to be able to stand on their own two feet, finding support, work and acceptance.

Communities that give
During the period of the pandemic but also in other critical times, On the Way ministries makes an announcement on the social media that it is collecting various goods for the homeless. Our volunteers live in different suburbs of Attica and they are the ones who receive and bring the basic necessities from any fellow citizen who can offer.
Barista Training Seminars
For our homeless friends who are in a creative age and if they are interested, there is the opportunity to be trained in the art of coffee. The barista seminars, as they are called, are conducted by a certified instructor and at the end of the seminars the barista candidate is examined and if he succeeds he receives the barista certificate from the recognized organization in Europe, SCA.
